For all you travel birds out there, the Charleston Airport information you need is all right here.
The Charleston International Airport (CHS) is located in North Charleston, at the end of International Boulevard 12 miles (roughly 20 minutes) from the heart of Downtown.
Just down the street are the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention Center, Performing Arts Center and the Tanger Outlet Mall.
Even though it is an International airport, there’s no need to be overwhelmed here. The Charleston Airport is small with only two terminals.
While the typical “arrive at airport” stigma is 2 hours prior to flight time, it is not usually the case in Charleston. While some like to gamble with arriving just one hour before, I’m much more cautious and like to get there at least 1½ hours before flight time, but that’s me.
Just like any airport, the security and check-in lines could be a breeze, but other times, they can get stopped up especially in season, during holidays and for business travel on Monday mornings. CHS however, is no LAX, ATL, JFK or ORD so you can relax about finding your way.
