Charleston Marathon - Annual January Event

The Charleston Marathon is an annual event benefiting the R. Keith and Deborah C. Summey Youth Endowment for the Arts (YEA), a local non-profit that supports fine arts programming in Charleston County Schools.

YEA serves all children in Charleston County by providing support to programs that increase equity in the arts for our youth.

- New downtown Charleston portion of Marathon and Half Marathon course features scenic water views, the Battery, and historic King Street

- Shrimp and Grits 5k run through historic Park Circle in North Charleston

- Indoor, climate controlled Packet Pick-up and Expo

- Indoor restroom facilities at the start and finish

- New chip timing using Jaguar system - no mats!

- Awards are 5 deep in age categories

- Ample parking at the start with shuttle return

- Kids fun area at Youth Marathon and at Finish Line celebration

The Charleston Marathon is not only part of a great cause, but is a fun event featuring local music and performances along the course and a variety of events throughout the weekend.
