The summer heat is dwindling and fall has arrived! With school back in session and families getting back into their yearly routines, September is a great month to discover everything Charleston has to offer.

I’ve got 3 words for September… Boone Hall Plantation! September is one of my favorite months for some very awesome and well known festivals of the area and they all are hosted by one of Charleston’s most historic plantations. The BBQ & Bluegrass Festival is, as the south like to say, “a large time!” Traditionally held over Labor Day weekend, this festival draws some of the Lowcountry’s best Bluegrass artists around. And if you ever go anywhere for some great BBQ… this is the place!

Also at Boone Hall is the unique Scottish Games and Highland Gathering. You’ll find traditional music, dancing and dress… and yes, I mean kilts! You’ll get the best taste for Scottish flare at this event.

I can’t forget to mention the ever-popular Southern Living Taste of Charleston! Charleston is known for its great food and it all comes together here, in one place. A “not-to-be-missed” event!
